VEGGI-RACE RULES

DATE: The Veggi-Race is on Saturday, August 18, 2007 at 3 PM in front of Floral Hall.

Participants can build their Veggi-Racer starting at 2 PM in the Entertainment Tent.

The Fair will provide vegetables, wheels and axles.

Participants may bring in their own vegetables and/or wheels if they wish.

The following age groups will compete against each other:

  • 3-5 years
  • 6-8 years
  • 9-12 years

There can be a maximum of five Veggi-Racers on the track for each race. If there are more than five contestants, the age group will be equally divided and raced in several races. All participants will receive a participation ribbon. The winner of each race will receive a winners’ ribbon.

  • Veggi-Racers must be made of vegetables
  • Veggi-Racers must have wheels but no more than six wheels.
  • Veggi-Racers must be made by the youth contestant (assistance will be provided for those who need help).
  • Veggi-Racers must fit on track (about 6” wide by 12” long).
  • Veggi-Racers cannot be raced in more than one age group.

The Fair Queens will be assisting the youth starting at 2 PM. They will also Host the race.

  • Vegetables
  • Wheels
  • Axles
  • Race Track
  • Ribbons
  • PA System
  • Tools for assembly (hammer/screwdriver)
  • Decorations for Veggi-Racers
