VEGETABLES

Monday, August 13, 2007 – 7:00 PM

Amount Offered - $625

Rules:

  • Entries must be in place by 6:30 PM, Monday, August 13, 2007.
  • Entry Fees: 10% of first-place premium. Payment must accompany entry.
  • Show is on the Main Floor of Floral Hall.
  • Judging to be held at 7:00 PM, Monday, August 13, 2007.
  • Awards will be released Sunday, August 19, 2007, between 11 AM and 1 PM
  • Premiums will be available Wednesday afternoon in the Secretary’s office
  1. All entries must be grown by exhibitor
  2. 1 exhibit per class per exhibitor.
  3. All entries must be plainly labeled with the variety by exhibitor. Varieties distinctly off type will be disqualified. All classes will be judged on quality of: uniformity in form, size, color, freedom from blemish, and edible quality.
  4. All exhibits entered in this department shall become the property of the Palmyra Union Agricultural Society unless prior arrangements are made with the department superintendent.
  5. Prizes will not be awarded to exhibits which are unworthy.
  6. When an exhibit is not labeled with correct name of variety or varieties, it is disqualified.
  7. No one is allowed in area while items are being judged.
  8. **Two new Sections are added this year. – Home Garden & Organic. You may enter only one (1) of the three (3) sections. (Section 1 – Garden Vegetables / Section 2 – Back Yard Home Garden / Section 3 – Organic Garden).

SECTION 3 – ORGANIC garden

Use same numbers for vegetables that are used in Section 1 but add O to the number.

(ie: O-1 is Beans, O-13 is Chard). Classes will run O-1 thru O-77

Same rules apply. Variety must be listed.

For open class, Senior Citizens age 60 and over.

  4. Ensiled Hay, 1 quart jar, labeling preparation used.
