DEPARTMENT 03 - DIVISION 1

DAIRY GOATS - OPEN DOE SHOW

Saturday, August 18, 2007 - 9:00 AM

Rules: (See rules and health regulations governing livestock exhibits.)

Entry fees: $.80 per animal (10% of 1st place premium).

Entries due: Saturday, August 4, 2007.
Late entries will be accepted upon the approval of the Superintendent.

Animals must be in place by 8:30 AM, Saturday, August 18, 2007.
Judging begins at 9:00 AM, Saturday, August 18, 2007.

Animals must meet all Health Requirements as set forth by the NYS Department of Agriculture and Markets.
All 4H Goats are required to have rabies vaccination to exhibit at the Fair.

All animals must be removed by 11 PM, Saturday, August 18, 2007 to begin clean-up.
If unable to remove by 11PM, contact Mike Gladstone (See Board of Directors)to make alternative arrangements.

  1. This show is sanctioned by the American Dairy Goat Association and their rules shall govern.
  2. The American Dairy Goat Association has sanctioned the following breeds: Alpine, LaMancha, Nubian, Oberhasli, Saanen, Toggenburg, and Recorded Grades.
  3. The base for computing ages is August 13, 2006.
  4. No substitutions after judging begins. Scratches will forfeit entry fee.
  5. Checks payable to the “Wayne County Fair” should be mailed to the Superintendent along with the entry forms.
  6. No animal will be allowed to unload without a health check by the veterinarian on duty.
  7. There will be no pre-show milkout.
  8. The original registration certificate is required for all animals 6 months of age or older, and must be shown t o the show secretary before the start of the show.
  9. No copies of the registration certificate or stamped application, telegrams or phone calls will be accepted in lieu of the original certificate.
  10. No horned animals or animals with abscesses are allowed on the grounds.
  11. Judging order will be juniors first, followed by milkers of that breed.
  12. Group classes will follow the last class. All breeds will compete together in group classes. ANIMALS ENTERED IN GROUP CLASSES MUST HAVE BEEN SHOWN IN THEIR REGULAR CLASSES.
  13. Ribbons awarded to first, second, third, fourth and fifth places. Wayne County Fair rosettes will be awarded to the Junior, Reserve Junior, Senior and Reserve Senior Champion of each breed.
  14. Premium awards are as follows: 1st....$8.00 2nd....$5.00 3rd....$3.00
  15. Cash premium awards for the group classes will be the same as for individual classes. No premiums will be awarded in classes where no entry fee is charged.
  16. The Wayne County Fair cannot be held responsible for loss, damage or accident to any animal, person or property while at the fairground. Animal and owner enter at their own risk.
  17. Junior Does: Purebred, American or Recorded Grades not in milk.
  18. Senior Does: Purebred, American or Recorded Grades of any age that have freshened or are in milk (dry milkers included).
  19. MANDATORY SHOW RING ATTIRE IS EITHER ALL WHITE OR BLACK PANTS WITH WHITE SHIRT.
  20. This is not a separately sanctioned senior junior show.

  1. Junior Kids (born April 1, 2007 - Show Date).
  2. Intermediate Kids (born March 1, 2006 - March 31, 2007).
  3. Senior Kids (born January 1, 2006 - February 28, 2007).
  4. Junior Yearlings (born May 1, 2005 - December 31, 2006).
  5. Senior Yearlings (born on or before April 30, 2006 that have not reached their second birthday).

     6.  Milkers, under 2 years of age.
     7.  Milkers, 2 years and under 3 years.
     8.  Milkers, 3 years and under 4 years.
     9.  Milkers, 4 years and under 5 years.

SECTION 9 - Group Classes

  1. Junior Get of Sire; shall consist of three (3) does from the Junior Division, the get of one sire. Sire to be named.
  2. Senior Get of Sire; shall consist of three (3) does from the Senior Division, the get of one sire. Sire to be named.
  3. Dam and Produce; shall consist of dam and her daughter. Dam must be named.
  4. Dairy Herd; shall consist of four does in milk.
  5. Best Three (3) Females.
